In efforts to safeguard public health in a population with a high consumption of bottled drinking water, UAE has chosen to regulate water to reduce the risk of outbreaks caused by water borne diseases and advance and harmonize the quality of drinking water sold in the UAE market. All bottled drinking water needs to obtain a mandatory Emirates Quality Mark (EQM) Certificate of Conformity.
The product requires finished product assessment as well as on-site audit assessment to ensure that the plant can consistently product the same quality of water based on ISO 9001 quality management system as well as the related.
The relevant UAE regulation for this is UAE Cabinet Resolution No. 26 of 2013, adoption of mandatory specifications for water.
